SOUTH AFRICA

"A World in one Country", South Africa is land of huge contrasts, apparent in a bewildering mix of race, language, creed and culture. There is also variety in the character of the cities and nature of the land. Travel eastwards from the modern metropolis of Johannesburg through the mistily beautiful Panorama Route to the heat-hazed Lowveld plain with the Kruger National Park and surrounding game areas. (For those unable to enter malarial areas, there are several malaria free lodges available). Alternatively travel north to the fantasy world of the Palace at Sun City. As enticing to the visitor is the tropical eastern coastal region of Kwazulu-Natal and the wild and unspoilt Transkei coast, golfers paradise.

THE CAPE AND GARDEN ROUTE
Further south still is the exquisite Garden Route along the Cape's southern shores. At almost the southern tip of the continent is Cape Town, set beneath the awesome buttress of Table Mountain: the scenic Peninsula and its scenic drives; and the neighbouring winelands with their magical combination of hills, valleys, vineyards, orchards and historic homesteads
